Our final Zoom Meeting for 2023 is scheduled for Tuesday, 24th October 2023 on the timely topic of Exam Preparation. The Zoom meeting link will be sent to you directly via email.
Times:
- 7:00pm (NSW / VIC)
- 6:00pm (QLD)
- 6:30pm (SA)
- 4:00pm (WA)
- 9:00pm (NZ)
A/Prof Tino Mercado will begin this meeting with a short presentation on exam technique and strategy and then we will discuss the two practice exam questions below. It would be terrific if you are able to give some thought to these questions beforehand and perhaps have an outline of how you might structure answers.
Question 1: ‘All periodontal pockets ≥ 5mm should be surgically treated’. Discuss the statement with reference to the literature.
Question 2: A 25-year-old healthy patient presented at your clinic with concerns of dental sensitivity and tenderness on brushing of the lower anterior teeth (see clinical picture below).

Please discuss:
a) any relevant clinical examination procedures, diagnostic aids and histories you need to draft a treatment plan for the patient.
b) your treatment approaches to provide the patient an excellent long-term stable outcome.
c) any factors, local or systemic that can affect your long-term result.
The meeting will conclude with some time to discuss exam related topics with the ANZAP panel.
Best wishes and good luck with your studies.
