Keynote Speaker : Panos N. Papapanou is Professor of Dental Medicine, Director of the Division of Periodontics, and Chair of the Section of Oral, Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Sciences, at Columbia University, New York, USA. He has earned DDS degrees from the University of Athens, Greece, and Columbia University, a PhD from Göteborg University, Sweden, and has received post-doctoral training in Oral Microbiology at the Forsyth Institute, Boston, USA. His research encompasses studies of the epidemiology of periodontal disease, the assessment of microbial and host-derived risk factors, the pathobiology of periodontitis and its role as a general health stressor. He has published >200 original manuscripts, and currently has a Google Scholar h-index of 82 with >32,000 citations. He is the recipient of several international awards, including the Distinguished Scientist Award Periodontal Research from the IADR. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology. 

Keynote Speaker:  Evanthia Lalla is a tenured professor at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. Prof. Lalla received dental degrees from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and from Columbia University. She completed her specialty training and a Master of Science in Periodontics at Columbia, has been a full-time member of its faculty for more than 25 years, and served as the College’s inaugural senior associate dean for faculty development. Prof. Lalla completed the Hedwig van Ameringen executive leadership in academic medicine fellowship and served as president and councilor of the Periodontal Research Group of the International Association for Dental Research. Her research has primarily focused on periodontitis and its link with diabetes and atherosclerosis, and has been supported by the National Institutes of Health, industry and foundations. She has published in high impact medical and dental journals, lectured internationally, and is the recipient of prestigious awards.
